THE DOS AND DON'TS OF FLYING WITH VAPES 

You might be planning a trip abroad and worrying about getting your e-cigarette through security if you're reading this. Is vaping permitted in aircrafts? Can you vape after going through security? How would a vaporizer be stored on a plane?

In this travel vaping guide, we will go over some of the international vaping laws and dos and don'ts of vaping on airplanes.

We hope the information below helps you make an informed decision about what vaping equipment you can reasonably hope to carry overseas with little to no hassle.

1- CAN YOU BRING A VAPE ON A PLANE?

Yes, you are allowed to bring a vape on flights, but you must switch it off properly and pack it in your carry-on bag rather than your checked luggage.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) classifies all vape products as portable electronic devices, so you must pack them in your carry-on bag with any other electronic products you may have, such as computers or power banks.

2- HOW DO I PACK MY VAPE FOR AIR TRAVEL? 

• Your vape device should be completely off, not just in sleep mode.
• Each spare battery must be wrapped individually and kept in carry-on luggage to avoid a short circuit.
• E-Liquids can be stored in clear plastic bags in bottles of no more than 100 milliliters in your hand luggage.
• We suggest avoiding your tanks and storing them in a clear plastic bag in your hand luggage as the compression in the cargo region might make your tank hole or break.

3- CAN I VAPE IN AN AIRPORT?

There will be rules about where you may and cannot vape at every airport. However, you should anticipate that the same choices that apply to smoking also apply to using a vape, and you should locate the designated smoking areas outside of the airports. You should indicate these, or you can look up the airport's smoking rules online. After passing through security in UK airports, there are no dedicated smoking areas, so it's a good idea to have everything packed and ready before you depart. 

4- CAN I BRING E-LIQUID ON A PLANE?

If you smoke electronic cigarettes, you'll need your trusty vape and e-liquids to travel with you everywhere you go, and fortunately for you, they can. Bringing e-liquids on flights is not illegal. There are laws concerning what can and cannot be brought on board, so you must be aware of the limitations on how much liquid you can carry on a flight and how it must be packaged. Vape juices will count toward your overall permitted amount of carry-on liquids, which you should also be aware of. 

5- CAN I VAPE ON A PLANE?

Absolutely not, you cannot. Vaping aboard a plane is prohibited by the same regulations that apply to smoking, and doing so could result in serious consequences and fines. 

Despite the fact that regulations surrounding where and how to use your vape may vary based on the airport and airline, it is completely forbidden everywhere to use a vape on an airplane, including disposables.

Additionally, it is not a good idea to take the chance of vaping in the restroom because airlines have detectors in place that will detect both cigarette smoke and e-cigarette vapor.

6- CAN I CHARGE MY VAPE ON A PLANE?

The quick answer is no because this might be interpreted as use or taken the wrong way. A vape is still regarded as an electronic device if you remove it from your hand luggage while flying. The best course of action is to make sure your smartphone is fully charged before you depart and that you don't use it up before boarding the aircraft.

You can check the airport's internet regulations to find out if and where you can charge your vape device prior to takeoff. Once you land and exit the airport, it would be nice if you could. However, make sure the device is completely off and put back in your carry-on luggage prior to boarding. 

7- HOW MANY DISPOSABLE VAPES CAN I BRING ON A PLANE?

You are permitted to bring disposable vapes on board a plane because of the lithium battery that is within the device, but the number is based on the airline's rules for traveling with batteries.

Most airlines let you bring between 15 and 20 disposables as long as they are attached securely and stored in your hold luggage, but it's worth double-checking before you fly. UK planes convey the following:

• You can carry up to 15 lithium-ion or metal batteries in your hand luggage on British Airways.
• Your carry-on luggage can contain up to 20 disposable vapes on Ryan Air.
• EasyJet doesn't indicate a cutoff, so it might merit calling them on the no chance that you might want to take a great deal with you.
• Virgin Atlantic permits you to convey disposable vapes in your portable bag, however, do not put down a boundary.
• You can check the airline's policy on how to travel with batteries, and if there is no mention of disposable vapes or how many you can bring, call them.

8- CAN I BRING MY VAPE TO ANOTHER COUNTRY?

While vaping is allowed in the UK, other countries may place varying restrictions on its use and legality; as a result, you should thoroughly investigate each country's rules before traveling there.

In some countries, like Singapore, vaping is completely prohibited. In the US, regulations vary depending on which state you are visiting. For example, in Australia, you can import and use vape devices or nicotine-containing e-fluids if you have a prescription from a medical professional.
